| Hello my name is James V. Clavin IV and as you may notice I am fairly new to this website and truly amazed with the talent throughout the site …keep it up my fellow deviants! And now back to me, among the many things I do I’m an inspired self-taught artist, like most artist I started off drawing scribble, sneakers and my favorite cartoon characters. When I look back I can’t help but laugh, cause those drawings were simply ridiculous and of course my mother as do most moms love to save everything …just because their crazy like that. I believe my early inspirations came from a few of my favorites, such as Norman Rockwell and my big brother, who would often take time to draw with me. I’ve come a long way since and I enjoy what I do and though I’ve worked for commission and have sold many other pieces, I’ve never wanted to look at art as a job but more or less a hobby. I’ve also never taken a class in my life, though I believe I do well …I wasn’t enthusiastic about someone altering my view on art or grading my art according to their standards, for what is art? I’ve tried a bit of everything from pencils to pastels, oils to water and canvas to rock, but in the end anything that writes is fine by me.
